For this year’s light festival „Unterwegs im Licht“ in Potsdam, we created an interactive mapping upon a wall mosaic outside of our working and creative space, the Rechenzentrum. The famous art work is called „Der Mensch bezwingt den Kosmos“ („The human conquers the cosmos“) and was created by Fritz Eisel in 1972. It shows an astronaut hovering outside his spaceship in the earth’s orbit. The spectators can approach the installation and interact with the mosaic by touching it, dancing in front of it or form certain groups. We used and expanded knowledge from our other research and interactive projects to realise the installation.
