Im Jahr 2045 wird die Welt, wie wir sie kennen, ganz anders aussehen. Wir können die Zukunft zwar nicht vorhersagen, aber wir können sie gestalten. FAST45 (Futures Art School Trends 2045) erkennt das Potenzial der Kreativität und des phantasievollen Denkens an, die an Kunsthochschulen gefördert und entwickelt werden. Zusammen mit dem stetigen Streben nach Innovation in der Gesellschaft hat dies zentrale Akteure aus der Kunsthochschulbildung und der Praxis veranlasst, ihre Kräfte zu bündeln. Ziel ist es, sich eine Zukunft vorzustellen und zu fördern, in der die Künste und die Kunsterziehung eine wesentliche Rolle in einer Welt spielen, die durch die vierte industrielle Revolution, die Globalisierung und den Klimawandel radikal umgestaltet wird.

The video above is a loose collection of thoughts on sustainability that emerged as part of FAST45’s examination of current challenges and key drivers for change. To this end, the FAST45 team conducted over 50 interviews that served as the basis for exploring possible futures. Together, we used the information gathered to develop a series of narratives and video essays that address key trends and developments in the arts and education.
With a great group of people we traveled through time into the year 2045 and investigated the roles of artists, creatives, institutions, disciplines, responsibilities. We imagined, created, embraced the chaos and found surprising connections and insights. It was a pleasure to host the workshop CHAOS/MOSIS at footnotes summerschool of FAST45. Here is part of a video produced on site with sounds from within the building of ZHdK Zürcher Hochschule der Künste and thoughts from the workshop participants.
