FAÇADE DIALOGS

Participatory Projection in Public Space

Premiered in September 2015
Commissioned by CityLeaks Urban Art Festival
Presented at Wiener Platz, Cologne

The project FAÇADE DIALOGS is a participatory projection in public space that showed different perspectives out of and on the district of Cologne Mülheim.

Over several weeks before of the installation, a mobile interview station was set up at the central Wiener Platz and pedestrians were invited to speak about the district. The content was edited journalistically and artistically before being projected onto two opposing façades at the Wiener Platz, larger than life.

Through the projection the district of Mülheim and its people became both object and mediator at the same time. FAÇADE DIALOGS gave the people the chance to share their personal voice and discuss relevant topics concerning the district’s developments. They could articulate there views in a direct way where they matter the most: in the actual space they were talking about.
