SNOW DREAM
SNOW DREAM
Projection Installation in exhibition
Premiered in September 2024
Presented at St.-Annen-Museum Lübeck
As part of the celebrations for the centenary of the novel “The Magic Mountain” by Thomas Mann, we were invited by the Buddenbrookhaus Lübeck to develop a spatial projection as part of the special exhibition “The Magic Mountain. Fiebertraum und Höhenrausch”.
Based on a fever dream that the protagonist of the book experiences in a snowstorm, the projection visualizes themes from the dream and the entire book in an abstract and associative way. Fragments of photos, AI-generated images and quotes from the text passage are woven into an audiovisual stream of consciousness. The installation is realized as a 180° panoramic projection and interrupts the visitors’ path through the exhibition with an audiovisual stream of impressions and highlights the interlude of the “snow dream” as one of the key scenes in the novel.
