The ballet “Der Kuss” (“The Kiss”) pays homage to the work of the Austrian painter Gustav Klimt (1862-1918). The production in two parts explores first the mythology of Klimt’s world and later how Klimt could possibly represent his characters today and which media he might choose to do so.

For the second part Xenorama was asked to extend the stage design by Georg Mayer-Wiel with projections. The result is a moving stage painting inspired by Klimt’s seductive visual worlds.
