Interactive Media Installation on hybrid ecosystems

Premiered in September 2020
Commissioned by ZKM | Center for Arts and Media Karlsruhe
Produced for “Seasons of Media Arts” Festival

KORRELATION transforms a street in the center of Karlsruhe into an abstract water landscape that changes under the feet of passers-by and visualizes the traces they leave behind.

The installation is divided into two phases: One focuses on the sensual perception, the other one on a scientific, data-based observation of our environment. Using projection, sound and sensor technology, the work thematizes water as one of our planet’s most precious resources and draws attention to the close relationship between man, nature and technology through the dynamic overlapping of visual and sound layers. The aim of the installation is to point out the interdependence of all human and non-human actors with whom we share and shape our living space.
