LUMINOUS OBJECTS
LUMINOUS OBJECTS
Artistic studies in between image and sculpture
Self initiated research project
In continuous development since 2018
LUMINOUS OBJECTS are a series of artistic studies that explore the aesthetic potential of light-emitting surfaces at the interface of digital image and sculpture. Various three-dimensional elements are composed on luminous surfaces and backlit with precisely fitting virtual lightings and animations. Enhanced by an object-specific sound atmosphere, the audio-visual compositions undergo a dramaturgical interplay between virtual and physical features. Thus, the artworks challenge the viewer’s viewing habits and question the perception and materiality of the object.

Edition 1: Homage
The first edition is to be understood as a homage to basic geometric forms that have played a fundamental role in the historical development of digital screens: The lens, the prism, and the cube. In the course of the animation, they develop their own aesthetics and behaviors, referencing the intense historical research of the Screenization project.
